GLVC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships Heads to Springfield, Missouri
The 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will be hosted by the GLVC on April 21-23 in Springfield, Missouri. The 2018 event, which will be primarily held at the Cooper Tennis Complex, is the 40th annual edition for the men and 38th for the women.
The top-four teams based on highest divisional winning percentage from each of the GLVC's two divisions earn a spot in the two eight-team tournaments. Both events are single elimination with the championship match conducted on Sunday.
The GLVC Tennis Championships will once again be streamed live and free on all GLVC Sports Network platforms, including GLVCSN.com, iOS/Android mobile apps, and Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV OTT apps. A complete schedule will be announced during championship week.
Indianapolis (9), Bellarmine (8), Southern Indiana (7), Drury (7), Rockhurst (2), as well as former league members Northern Kentucky (5) and SIU Edwardsville (2), have all claimed GLVC Men's Tennis Championshps.
On the women's side, Indianapolis (10), Drury (7), Southern Indiana (3), Lewis (2), Bellarmine (1) have all earned titles, as well as former league members Saint Joseph's (7), Northern Kentucky (6) and SIU Edwardsville (1).
Last year, Indianapolis earned its second-straight and league-record ninth men's title with a 5-0 victory over Drury at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis. On the women's side, UIndy edged Drury 5-4 for their 10th conference crown.
