University of Indianapolis to Host
2015 GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship
The 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC) on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 28-March 1. The 2015 edition marks the 16th annual GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship and moves to a Saturday-Sunday format this season as opposed to Friday-Saturday as in years past.
For the first time ever, the two-day event will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network. Nearly 10 hours of coverage will be made available for free for all visitors to GLVCsports.com/watch.
In 2014, the Lewis men's team finished with 148 points to claim a 37-point victory over Missouri S&T's final of 111 points. Championship host Indianapolis ended up in third place with a score of 85 points.
On the women's side, the Flyers built upon their commanding first day lead to claim the championship with a score of 209 points, 89 more than runner-up UIndy's 120. Third place was claimed by Truman State with a score of 76.5 points.
The Flyers' titles were the third on the women's side and the second for the men.
UIndy and former GLVC member SIU Edwardsville each have four men's indoor titles, while Lewis has won two and Missouri S&T has earned one. Lewis is also one of four teams to have earned a women's indoor crown, joining SIU Edwardsville (5), Bellarmine (2) and Indianapolis (1).
