INDIANAPOLIS – The GLVC has selected five student-athletes as Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sports for the 2009-10 fall season. Drury’s Jaime Villa Zapatero and Blake Wilson, Indianapolis’ Kyleigh Turner, Quincy’s Jenna Boyko and Southern Indiana’s Mary Ballinger are the fall recipients.

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Sophomores Dustin Emerick (Elmwood, Illinois) and Brendan Devine (Bethel, New York) each earned All-America honors Saturday as the No. 16 University of Southern Indiana men’s cross country team finished sixth out of 24 teams at the NCAA II Cross Country Championships, which were held at the USI Cross Country Course.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana men’s cross country team defended its team crown again on Saturday morning at the 2009 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship held at E.P. ‘Tom’ Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The Eagles posted 36 points to hold off Drury and capture its fifth straight conference championship.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, hosted by Bellarmine University, will be held in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Oct. 24 at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park. The 25th annual six-kilometer women’s race will begin at 10 a.m., with the 32nd annual eight-kilometer men’s race following at 10:45 a.m.

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky’s Drew Harris has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second week in a row. Harris paced his team once again this past weekend at the GLVC-MIAA Challenge in Rolla, Mo.

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky’s Drew Harris has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Harris broke the school’s record in the 8K run on Saturday, running the Greater Louisville Classic in 24:34.
