OWENSBORO, Ky. - Craig Brown, assistant volleyball coach at Brescia University in Owensboro for the past two-and-half seasons, has been chosen as head coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College, as announced by Director of Athletics Gary Gallup today.
INDIANAPOLIS – The GLVC has selected five student-athletes as Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sports for the 2009-10 fall season. Drury’s Jaime Villa Zapatero and Blake Wilson, Indianapolis’ Kyleigh Turner, Quincy’s Jenna Boyko and Southern Indiana’s Mary Ballinger are the fall recipients.
LEXINGTON, Ky.- In a release by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Dec. 11, University of Indianapolis volleyball head coach Jody Butera was named the 2009 AVCA Division II National Coach of the Year. Butera guided the Greyhounds to a stellar 38-2 mark this season, punctuated by the program’s first-ever trip to the Elite Eight.
ST. PAUL, Minn.- The ninth-ranked University of Indianapolis was eliminated from the NCAA Division Volleyball Championships Thursday with a straight set loss to top-ranked Concordia, St. Paul. ST. PAUL, Minn.- UIndy senior Kyleigh Turner (Muncie, Ind./Cowan) was bestowed with the NCAA’s Elite 88 award at the annual banquet for the Division II Volleyball Championship Wednesday night. The Elite 88 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 88 championships.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Indianapolis junior setter Cheneta Morrison (Fort Wayne, Ind.) was named a First-Team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as announced by the organization on Monday. Morrison is one of five GLVC players to earn All-America honors from the AVCA.
INDIANAPOLIS– Lewis University senior Stephanie Sagat was named the 2009 Daktronics, Inc. Division II Midwest Region Player of the Year in a vote by the region’s sports information directors.

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis' Kyleigh Turner, Lewis' Stephanie Sagat and Missouri S&T's Julie Meyer have been named to teh 2009 ESPN the Magazine College Division All-District Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Turner and Sagat were selected in District 5 and Meyer was a District 7 selection.
