Drury to Host NCAA Midwest Regional; Lewis, NKU Also Earn Berths

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Committee announced today the field of 32 teams for the 2009 Division II Men's Soccer Championship. Drury, Lewis and Northern Kentucky each earned a spot in the field and Drury has been tabbed as the host and top seed in the Midwest Region.

The Panthers (20-1) will face the No. 4 seed Northern Kentucky in the 7 p.m. match on Friday. Drury and NKU (15-5-2) split two matches this season, with the Panthers claiming the most recent meeting in the GLVC Championship on Sunday, 1-0.

Lewis (13-3-2), which earned the No. 3 seed for the tournament, will meet No. 2 seed Ashland (12-3-5) in the 4 p.m. match on Friday at Drury. Friday's two winners will meet at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Harrison to determine the Super Region 4 champion and who moves on to the national quarterfinals a week later, to be hosted by the winner of this weekend's action.

The winners of the two matches on Friday will meet at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the national quarterfinals.
