Undy's Royer, SJC's Sult Named Men's Indoor Track & Field Award Recipients

INDIANAPOLIS –Saint Joseph’s Tyler Sult (Mishawaka, Ind./Mishawaka) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and the University of Indianapolis’ Matthew Royer is the GLVC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

 

Sult took first-place in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash at the Mike Lints Alumni Open in Allendale, Michigan last weekend. He leads the GLVC in both events with a time of 6.98 in the 60-meter dash and a time of 22.42 in the 200-meter dash.

 

Royer dominated the competition at the Cedarville Collegiate Invite in the men’s weight throw. He established the fieldhouse record and currently ranks in the top 15 throws on the NCAA performance list by posting a mark of 17.83 meters.

 

Saint Joseph’s travels to the UW-Parkside Ranger Open this weekend, while UIndy is back in action when they travel to the Little Giant Invitational at Wabash College on Saturday.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC this week included Lewis’ Scott Barnas and UIndy’s Michael Landy.
