Lewis Claims Fourth GLVC Title in Five Years

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The No. 11 Lewis women's volleyball team claimed the 2010 GLVC Championship on Sunday afternoon with a 25-18, 24-26, 25-23, 25-22 win over No. 19 UIndy at Neil Carey Arena. The championship was the fourth conference crown for the Flyers in the past five years. Lewis (26-4), with the victory, earns the GLVC's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Lewis limited UIndy (25-8)  to a .190 hitting percentage while attacking at a .284 clip. The Flyers were led by Carly Perschnick who posted 19 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.

GLVC Player of the Year Rachel Ruedi led the attack with 59 assists and Lauren Seliga chipped in a double-double with 15 kills and 20 digs.

Courtney Anglemyer and Kristina Hefferan posted 18 and 17 kills for the Greyhounds, respectively, while Cheneta Morrison had 51 assists and 13 digs.
