Rockhurst's Hill, Meyer Named Academic All-District

INDIANAPOLIS - Rockhurst men's basketball players Aaron Hill and Jake Meyer have been named ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Hill was named to the District 7 First Team and Meyer was selectd to the Second Team.

Hill, a senior guard from Canton, Mo., is averaging 20.7 points per game for the Hawks during the 2009-10 season. The reigning GLVC Men's Basketball Player of the Year is also maintaining a 3.84 grade point average in the Rockhurst MBA program.

Meyer, a senior forward from Omaha, Neb., is tallying 8.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for the Hawks. The accounting student has maintained a 3.98 grade point average.

The duo has helped the Hawks to a 14-7 overall mark this year and Rockhurst currently sits in second place in the GLVC West Division with a 9-3 league record.

Hill will now advance to the ballot for the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Team by virtue of being a first-team All-District pick.
