Rockhurst's Fry Named GLVC Men's Golfer of the Month
INDIANAPOLIS – Rockhurst University senior golfer Clarke Fry (Manhattan, Kan./Manhattan) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for March. Fry led the Hawks at two events during the month, posting top-ten finishes in each.
Fry fired a 74-73=147 at the The Shootout at Aguilla on Mar. 5-6. The three-over-par performance was good for a seventh-place tie overall at Aguilla Golf Course in Phoenix. The effort assisted the Hawks to a fourth-place finish in the five-team field.
At the University of Illinois-Springfield Invitational on Mar. 21-22, Fry guided the Hawks to a first-place team finish. He posted a 76-77=153 to grab second place overall. Fry’s nine-over-par effort at Piper Glen Golf Course helped Rockhurst post a two-day score of 628 and win the 10-team invitational.
On the month, Fry competed in four rounds and finished with a 75.0 scoring average. He is third in the GLVC this season with a 72.7 scoring average in 15 rounds.
Rockhurst will next compete at the Midwest Regional #3, held at Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville, Ind. on Apr. 11-12.
