NCAA Invites Four GLVC Softball Teams to National Tourney
INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division II Softball Committee has selected 64 teams to compete in the 2010 NCAA Division II Softball Championship and four GLVC teams have been honored with a bid. Lewis, Indianapolis, Northern Kentucky and Quincy will be competing on May 14-16 for a regional crown.
Lewis, the 2010 GLVC Champion, is the No. 3 seed for the tournament and will meet sixth-seeded Northern Kentucky in the first round at Ashland, the No. 2 seed. The host Eagles will face seventh-seeded Tiffin in the first round.
UIndy, the No. 4 seed, will travel to Wayne State on Friday and meet fifth-seeded Saginaw Valley State in a rematch of last season's super regional. The host Warriors will face eighth-seeded Quincy in the first round.
Winners of the two regional sites will advance to the super regionals May 21-22. The finals will be held May 27-31 at Heritage Park Softball Complex in St. Joseph, Missouri and will be hosted by Missouri Western State University.
