Quincy's Schwagmeyer Named GLVC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – Quincy University senior forward Ali Schwagmeyer(Camp Point, IL/Central) has been tabbed the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. Schwagmeyer helped lead the Hawks to an undefeated week in conference divisional play posting wins against Drury and Missouri S&T.  

Schwagmeyer posted impressive numbers on the week, averaging 24 points, eight rebounds, and four assists per game. She shot 21-for-40 (52.5%) from the field and went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. She also collected seven steals between the two wins.
Schwagmeyer started off the week putting up a game-high 30 points including two three-point buckets in the Hawks convincing 96-60 win over a tough Drury squad on Thursday. She went an impressive 13-for-19 (68.4%) from the floor. Schwagmeyer also collected three rebounds and four steals as well as three assists in the Quincy victory over the GLVC West Division leader.  
Schwagmeyer returned Saturday evening for a showdown with Missouri S&T where she recorded a double-double with 18 points and an impressive 13 rebounds on the night. Schwagmeyer had a well-rounded game as she also added five assists, and three steals in Quincy’s 73-62 win over the Miners. 
Schwagmeyer and the Quincy squad will return to conference action on Thursday night when they take on Missouri-St. Louis at home.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included UW-Parkside’s Jadee Rooney, Maryville’s Shelby Miller, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Kristen Rowe, Northern Kentucky’s Casse Mogan, Indianapolis’ Kristin Turner, Bellarmine’s Kylie Brady, and Illinois Springfield’s Alyssa Palmer.
