GLVC Men's Basketball Finishes First Round of GLVC Championship

EVANSVILLE- The No. 5 seeded Southern Indiana men’s basketball team (21-6) picked up a win in the first round of the SCHEEL’s GLVC Championship on Sunday evening. The Eagles were led by Brandon Hogg’s 20 points. Also highlighting the win was Southern Indiana senior forward Isaac McClure who posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds on the night. Maryville had two players reach double digits in scoring as Armon Provo tallied 15 points and Tony Asa posted 13. The Maryville Saints finished their season with an overall record of 13-14.

QUINCY- The Drury Panthers (17-10) picked up a road win against No. 8 seeded Quincy in the first round of the tournament. Drury had four players reach double digits in scoring. Ian Carter and Alex Hall both had a 16 point performance on the night to lead the Panthers. Quincy was led by Justin Brock who had the game-high 24 points. Quincy closes the season at 18-9. Drury will head to Springfield for the Quarterfinal rounds set to begin Friday.

SPRINGFIELD-The Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars hosted Lewis in the first round of the SCHEELS GLVC Championship. The visiting Flyers took a 75-68 victory to advance to quarterfinal action. Lewis was led by Chris McClellan’s 19 points. The Flyers also picked up 16 points from David Bryant who went 2-for-2 from the arc and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Despite the loss, the Illinois Springfield squad received an 18 point effort from Jermaine Love-Roberts, while Lester Hart posted 17 points on the night. The Prairie Stars finish their season with a 15-13 record while Lewis moves to 17-10. They will return to Springfield Friday for the quarterfinal rounds.
 
#6 Kentucky Wesleyan 79, #11 Missouri S&T 59- BOX SCORE | KWC RECAP | S&T RECAP
 
OWENSBORO-The No. 6 seeded Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers will advance to the quarterfinal rounds of the SCHEEL’s GLVC Championship after their 20 point win over Missouri S&T on Sunday. Brandon Johnson led the Panthers with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Missouri S&T received a 16 point effort from Tommy Pelczynski. Missouri S&T will end their season at 7-20 while Kentucky Wesleyan move to 21-6.
