INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Several Great Lakes Valley Conference softball standouts earned regional honors this past week by both Daktronics and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). A total of 19 GLVC players earned 33 All-Midwest Region honors, including UIndy’s Casey Williamson and Jennifer DeMotte adding to their GLVC Player and Pitcher of the Year honors as the Daktronics Midwest Regional Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.
Nineteen players were recognized on the Daktronics first and second teams, including nine first-team honorees.
Twelve GLVC standouts also earned regional honors from the NFCA. Those players included Bellarmine’s Megan Murdoch (SS) and Lauren Summe (1B), Illinois Springfield’s Sarah Gray (2B), UIndy’s DeMotte, Williamson, and Sydney Russell (U-NP), Lewis’ Jayme Hefler (OF), Missouri-St. Louis’ Brianna Butler (1B) and Madison Zbaraschuk (C), Northern Kentucky’s Emily Schwable (P) and Kaylin Steinmetz (OF), and Southern Indiana’s Kristen O'Haver (U-NP).
