QUINCY, Ill. – Rockhurst University claimed its second consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship Sunday following a 2-0 victory over No. 2 seed University of Indianapolis at Legends Stadium in Quincy, Ill.

In its fourth appearance in the GLVC Championship final, Rockhurst (15-3-2) garners its fourth conference crown overall, as the Hawks claimed the 2005 and 2008 crowns before capturing last year's title on their home turf in Kansas City.

With the win, the Hawks also earned revenge on the Greyhounds (15-3-2), who beat them 1-0 in Kansas City two weeks ago on Oct. 25.
Both Rockhurst and UIndy were kept off the scoreboard in the first half Sunday, despite registering a combined nine shots, including seven by the Hawks.

Just two minutes into the second half though, the Hawks took a 1-0 lead after Jon Schreiber scored on a header off an assist from Mark Magee at the 46:17 mark.  Six minutes later, Nick McDonald drew a foul in the box and Magee promptly converted the penalty kick for his 13th goal of the season.

Rockhurst also held UIndy’s Ngwese Ebangwese – the GLVC Offensive Player of the Year – to just one shot on the day.  Ryan Bass was credited with three saves, while his counterpart Andrew Verhonik also stopped three shots while allowing two Hawks’ strikes to get by.

Both teams will now await NCAA selection, with the pairings for next weekend's NCAA Midwest Regional being announced Monday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. EST on ncaa.com.
