The 2013 Deaconess GLVC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament opens today with four quarterfinal contests. No. 3 seed Kentucky Wesleyan survived a scare from sixth-seeded Indianapolis and held on for a 64-63 quarterfinal win at the 2013 Deaconess GLVC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. UIndy rallied from 17 points down in the first half to tie the game at 38-38 at intermission. Four KWC players scored in double digits, led by Lauren Goffinet's 12 points. UIndy was paced by Kristin Turner with 16 points, six assists, and five rebounds.

Defending GLVC Champion and No. 2 seed Maryville held off No. 7 William Jewell 62-61 Friday the quarterfinals of the 2013 Deaconess GLVC Basketball Championship Tournament. Samantha Robison, Shelby Miller and Kayla Person has 12 points each to lead the Saints, who advance to the semifinals for a rematch of last year's title game against Kentucky Wesleyan. William Jewell was paced by Katlyn Wood with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

Top-seeded Lewis earned a 50-42 victory over No. 8 seed Missouri S&T Friday night in the quarterfinal round of the 2013 Deaconess GLVC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. Mariyah Henley netted 11 points, Jess Reinhart added 10, and Nikki Nellen tallied nine points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Missouri S&T's Hailee Parks has 12 points and 10 rebound to lead the Lady Miners.

Gaby Bronson came off the bench to score 23 points in No. 5 UW-Parkside's 57-46 quarterfinal victory over No. 4 Quincy on Friday in the 2013 Deaconess GLVC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament. The Rangers finished 22-of-26 from the free-throw line and forced 22 Quincy turnovers to secure the win. The Lady Hawks, held to just 14 points in the first half, were paced by Lucy Cramsey and Hannah Weedman with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
