COLUMBUS, Ind. - University of Indianapolis junior Tucker Guisewite carded an even-par 73 on Monday to claim medalist honors at the 2014 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship, while four league squads earned the right to battle for the GLVC title in match play competition on Tuesday at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind.

Guisewite shot a 3-under-par 213 (72-69-72) to earn the one-shot victory over a pair of McKendree University standouts in Garrett Sneed (73-69-72--214) and Nathan Nottrott (72-71-71--214), who each finished the 54-hole stroke play competition at 2-under.  University of Missouri-St. Louis' Anthony Cope (71-70-74--215) and Lewis University's Robert Dofflemyer (74-70-71--215) finished one stroke back tied for fourth at 1-under.

All five individuals were named to the first half of the All-Conference team, as the second half of the 10-member squad along with the major postseason awards, including Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year will be determined by a coaches' vote in the coming weeks.

Guisewite becomes the 10th Greyhound to win the individual GLVC Championship and the first since Justin Hueber won back-to-back conference crowns in 2008 and 2009.

UIndy (289-279-298--866) finished stroke play five shots ahead of UMSL (292-289-290--871), which gave the Greyhounds the right to the No. 1 seed in Tuesday's four-team match-play competition.  McKendree (288-289-298--875), playing in its first year of eligibility as a full-status NCAA Division II member, is the third seed and will battle the second-seeded Tritons on Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m. ET off the No. 10 tee.  Fourth-seeded Lewis (298-282-300-880) returns to match play where last year it fell to Indianapolis in the finals, 4-1.  The Flyers will meet the Greyhounds in Tuesday's other semifinal at 8 a.m. ET off tee No. 1.

Not advancing to match play competition was fifth-place University of Wisconsin-Parkside (298-291-294--883), Rockhurst University (302-300-304--906) and Bellarmine University (310-300-296--906) in a tie for sixth, eighth-place finisher University of Illinois Springfield (306-300-302--908), Drury University (304-305-300-909), and William Jewell College (297-308-306--911) to round out the top 10.  Wrapping up the 14-team field was the University of Southern Indiana (300-309-303--912), Maryville University (317-310-293--920), Saint Joseph's College (308-315-316--939) and Quincy University (316-320-304--940).

After seeing 13 sub-par rounds over 36 holes on Sunday, Monday yielded seven across the 14 teams, including the low round of the day coming from Bellarmine senior Ryan Glass with a 3-under 69.  UMSL's Julien de Poyen recorded the biggest turnaround of the day as he posted a 2-under 70 following an 81 in the second round.  Other notable red-number contributions came from Maryville's Nick Lees (70), Drury's Gabe Laske (71), and Rockhurst's Nick Arman (71).
