INDIANAPOLIS -- Eight GLVC women's soccer players from three teams were named Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region honorees as selected by the region’s sports information directors.
Bellarmine University had four players earn all-region honors, including GLVC Offensive Player of the Year Mary Beth Gorham, who was named to the First Team as a forward. On the Second Team for the Knights was goalkeeper Taylor Smith, midfielder Lauren Holder and defender Jordan Major.
Truman State University had two first-team picks in GLVC Defensive Player of the Year Jessica Hanson and midfielder Alexis Heffernan.
Quincy University rounded out the league laurels with midfielder Ashley Burton on the First Team and GLVC Freshman of the Year Abby Pulliam earning a second-team nod.
Grand Valley State junior midfielder Marti Corby was named the Midwest Region Player of the Year.
All 13 first-team All-Region selections will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America Consideration. The All-America teams are scheduled to be released on Wednesday, December 9. The complete Division II CCA Midwest Region teams can be found below.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
