GLVC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament: Web site | Bracket

INDIANAPOLIS – The 2016 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship Tournament bracket was released late Wednesday by the Conference office. Rockhurst University earned the No. 1 seed in the eight-team tournament, followed by No. 2 Missouri S&T, No. 3 University of Southern Indiana, and No. 4 Drury University. All four teams will host quarterfinal action on Sunday, Oct. 30, as the opening round of the GLVC Championship Tournament commences.

Top-seeded Rockhurst (14-2-1 12-2-1 GLVC, .833) earned the right to play in its 11th Conference tournament and seventh straight while capturing its fourth regular season title. The sixth-ranked Hawks, who captured five GLVC Championships with the first in 2005, will face No. 8 Maryville University (10-7-1, 7-7-1 .500) at a time to be determined on Sunday in Kansas City, Missouri. This is the first GLVC postseason bid for the Saints since joining the league in 2008. Earlier this year, Rockhurst earned a 2-0 road victory past Maryville on Sept. 25.

No. 2 Missouri S&T (10-2-6, 9-1-5, .767) advances to its 10th overall and fourth consecutive postseason and will host No. 7 seed University of Indianapolis (8-5-4, 6-5-4, .533) on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT in Rolla, Missouri, which will stream live on the GLVC Sports Network at GLVCSN.com. Indianapolis advances to the postseason for the 24th-straight season, earning the coveted championship hardware in 2014. The Miners and Greyhounds will return to their first league matchup of the season where the two played to a 0-0 double overtime tie on Sept 11. S&T, the 16th-ranked team in the nation, beat out Southern Indiana for the second slot after the two teams tied in their regular season contest but the Miners defeated Rockhurst while USI lost to the Hawks.

No. 3 Southern Indiana (12-2-3, 10-2-3, .767) will host No. 6 University of Missouri-St. Louis (10-6-1, 9-5-1, .633) at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday in Evansville, Indiana. The Screaming Eagles get to the postseason for the 20th season and second year in a row and will look to flip the script on the Tritons, following a 2-1 home loss to UMSL on Sept. 9 in the first GLVC game of the season. The Tritons are making their 12th appearance in the Conference event. The match will stream live on GLVCSN.

No. 4 Drury (11-3-3, 9-3-3, .700) will serve as host to fifth-seeded Quincy University (11-4-2, 9-4-2, .667) at 2:30 p.m. CT Sunday in Springfield, Missouri, and can be viewed on GLVCSN. Drury claimed a Conference title in 2009 and makes its ninth appearance, as all have come in back-to-back years starting in 2008. Quincy is making its 19th appearance overall and eighth consecutive trip with one championship crown in 2011. The two teams met back on Sept. 25 in Quincy in a high-scoring match that was won by the Hawks 4-3.

Each of the four quarterfinal winners will advance to the GLVC Championship Tournament semifinals, which will be hosted for the first time in the sport’s history at a neutral site by the GLVC at Carroll Stadium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Friday, Nov. 4. Two semifinal contests will be played at times to be determined, while the 2016 GLVC Championship Tournament final will take place Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. ET. All six games will stream live on GLVCSN at GLVCSN.com.

Last year, top-seeded Rockhurst captured the 2015 GLVC Championship as a result of a 1-0 victory over No. 3 Quincy.
