INDIANAPOLIS – Southwest Baptist University sophomore quarterback TJ Edwards, Missouri S&T junior defensive end Bret Curtis, and Lincoln University junior kicker/punter Alex Templeton have earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

- Threw for 315 yards on 24-of-35 passing (68.6%)
- Recorded five passing touchdowns (67, 50, 20, 19, 12 yards)
- Third-most passing TDs in a single game in school history
- Accounted for all 35 points against 30th-ranked total defense in NCAA DII
- Recorded 185.6 passer efficiency rating
- Earns his second Offensive Player of the Week award (9/12/16)

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Team Result: 26-0 home win vs. William Jewell
- Recorded 10 tackles (8 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks
- Posted an interception early in second half, which led to an S&T field goal
- Became eighth GLVC defender to post 5.0 TFLs in a game (totaled -19 yards)
- His 5.0 TFLs were also the most by a Miner in over 20 seasons
- Efforts helped S&T to first shutout in over four years
- Earns his first Defensive Player of the Week award

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

- Broke two schools records and two GLVC records on Saturday
- Game-winning 54-yard field goal is longest in both school and GLVC history
- Made four field goals (54, 47, 38, 24 yards) to break GLVC and Lincoln single-game records
- GLVC record of four field goals also matched by Missouri S&T freshman kicker Ben Styron against William Jewell on Saturday (42, 32, 37, 32 yards)
- Accounted for all 12 of Lincoln’s points in the victory
- Averaged 58.0 yards on kickoffs with one touchback
- Averaged 37.2 yards on punts, with two landing inside the opponent’s 20-yard line
- Earns his first Special Teams Player of the Week award
