GLVC Soccer Earns NSCAA All-America, All-Region Laurels

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced on Thursday (Dec. 1) the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s All-Region and All-America Teams, and the Great Lakes Valley Conference is respectively represented with 35 and three standouts.

McKendree University and GLVC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year Sydnee Carroll, a sophomore forward, was named a second-team All-American; while Rockhurst University respectively had one All-America third-team honoree each from the women's and men's squads, including senior midfielder Courtney Silberberg and GLVC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year Kaleb Jackson, a junior forward.

This year’s 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division II All-America Teams feature a total of 70 players, who will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon on January 14, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention.

Of the 11 spots on the NSCAA Division II All-Midwest Region Men's Soccer First Team, the GLVC earned 10 of them. As for the Second Team, there were five league players earning recognition. For the women, seven players were chosen for the First Team and eight made their way to the Second Team with five on the Third Team.
