Two days of GLVC women's basketball action are on the docket to close the month of January, and five teams will host a game on both Thursday and Saturday. Those teams include Quincy, Missouri-St. Louis, Maryville, McKendree, and Illinois Springfield. East leader Lewis (16-4, 9-1 GLVC) is one of the teams that Quincy will host, as the Flyers are looking to extend their league-best win streak to double digits and maintain a spot atop the Point Rating System. Southern Indiana (15-2, 7-1) is currently on a four-game win streak and second in the PRS standings. The Screaming Eagles will split the week with a home game against UW-Parkside Thursday before traveling to McKendree Saturday. Drury (16-2, 7-1) enters the week in third on the PRS after going 1-1 last week and will look to earn head coach Molly Miller's 100th career victory by winning out at Illinois Springfield and against William Jewell. Those contests along with all the others this week can be seen on every GLVCSN platform.

Not only did Drury have five players score in double figures this afternoon in its annual ‘Overflow the O’ game, but Alice Heinzler also dropped a game-, season-, career-, and program-high 41 points, which is also tied for sixth in the GLVC record books. She nearly single-handedly defeated the Cardinals, also sinking a program-high nine three-pointers, as the Panthers won, 101-46, to record the most points this season against another D-II and league opponent. To add even more excitement to the result, it also happened to be Molly Miller’s 100th win leading Drury in just 115 games coached at her alma mater. With its 83-67 win at Quincy, Lewis extended its GLVC-best win streak to double digits at 10, as Jessica Kelliher scored a game-high 28 points and added 13 rebounds. Indianapolis’ Martha Burse also pulled in a double-double with 26 points and 10 boards, including the game’s last four points, to lead the Greyhounds at Illinois Springfield, 56-53. Elsewhere at home, Missouri-St. Louis moved to five wins in a row with a big result against Bellarmine, 72-61, and Missouri S&T defeated Rockhurst, 81-64. On the road, Southern Indiana topped McKendree 74-62, for its sixth-straight victory, while UW-Parkside narrowly beat Maryville 60-55.
