Drury, Cooper Tennis Complex to Host
2012 GLVC Tennis Championships 

The 2012 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's & Women's Tennis Championship will be hosted by Drury University on April 20-21. The 2012 events, which will be held at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo., marks the 34th annual edition for the men and 31st for the women.

The top four teams based on highest divisional winning percentage from each of the GLVC's two divisions earn a spot in the each of the two eight-team tournament.  Both events are single elimination with a third-place and championship match conducted on Saturday.

Bellarmine (8), Drury (4), Indianapolis (7), Northern Kentucky (5), Rockhurst (2), Southern Indiana (5) and former league-member SIU Edwardsville (2) have all claimed GLVC Men's Tennis Championshps.

Bellarmine holds the most crowns with eight and last won the title in 1995-96.

Last year, Rockhurst won its second GLVC Men's Tennis Championship after topping Southern Indiana in the championship match, 5-3.

On the women's side, Bellarmine (1), Drury (5), Indianapolis (8), Northern Kentucky (6), Saint Joseph's (6), Southern Indiana (4) and former league-member SIU Edwardsville (1) have all recorded conference championships in the past.

UIndy has claimed a league-best eight women's tennis titles with the last coming in the 2005-06 season.

Last year, Drury won its fifth consecutive GLVC Women's Tennis Championship by topping Lewis in the championship match, 5-1.

Admission to the 2012 GLVC Tennis Championships is free.
