The 2013 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be take place at Lewis Stadium on the campus of Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., May 3-4. The 2013 event will mark the 18th year for the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Last season, the University of Indianapolis’ men’s and women’s track and field teams captured the GLVC Championship for the third consecutive time, as the Greyhounds earned a 186-118 victory over the Missouri S&T men’s squad and a 192-157 result against Bellarmine on the women’s side.
The 2012 titles gave the UIndy men’s team its fifth conference crown, which tied the league record with former member SIU Edwardsville. The Greyhound women extended their conference record to six league titles with the win.
Bellarmine finished third in the men’s standings with 112 points, followed by Lewis (86), Southern Indiana (80) and William Jewell (72) to complete the top six. Rounding out the 11-team field were Saint Joseph’s (65), UW-Parkside (47), Drury (27), Northern Kentucky (16) and Maryville (8).
In the women’s standings, Lewis fell just shy of a runner-up finish, placing four points out in third at 153. Saint Joseph’s (79) and Missouri S&T (65) followed, as did UW-Parkside (52), William Jewell (42), Southern Indiana (39), Drury (30), Northern Kentucky (7) and Maryville (3).
