The 2011 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championships will feature the top eight teams based on conference winning percentage following a 15-game round robin league schedule in which every GLVC team will play the other once.
The top four teams will host quarterfinal matches on Sunday, Oct. 30. The four remaining teams following quarterfinal action will advance to the top remaining seed for the semifinals and final on Nov. 4 & 6, respectively.
This season marks marks the 33nd year of the GLVC Men's Soccer Tournament and the seventh consecutive year that eight schools will participate in the GLVC Championship.
Drury (1), Lewis (8), Northern Kentucky (5), Rockhurst (2), Southern Indiana (10), UW-Parkside (1) and former members SIU Edwardsville (4) and IUPU-Ft. Wayne (1) have all claimed GLVC Men's Soccer titles. Southern Indiana has won the GLVC Men's Soccer Championship a record 10 times with the Eagles last title coming in 1991.
Last year, Northern Kentucky won its fifth GLVC title by defeating Indianapolis in the championship match, 3-0. The Norse went on to capture its first NCAA D-II Men's Soccer National Championship becoming the first GLVC men's soccer team to claim the national title.
